On June 20, as part of the closing events of the Philharmonic’s 79th concert season, the international Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival in Kazakhstan was held.

Representatives of the renowned Subramaniam family performed on one stage alongside the Philharmonic’s Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, and the Gakku Dance Ensemble. The distinguished guests included legendary Indian violinist and composer Dr. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam, world-famous vocalist Kavita Krishnamurti, acclaimed violinist, composer, and educator Ambi Subramaniam, vocalist Bindu Subramaniam, and young singer and violinist Mahati Subramaniam.

The festival opened with the choreographic performance “Shashu”, presented by the Symphony Orchestra and the Gakku Dance Ensemble. Throughout the evening, audiences enjoyed selected compositions by Lakshminarayana Subramaniam as well as songs from popular Indian films. A highlight of the program was “Shantipriya”, a choreographic production specially commissioned by Lakshminarayana Subramaniam and staged by choreographer Gulmira Ordabayeva. Reflecting the artistic harmony between Kazakh and Indian cultures, the performance received a warm response from the audience.

The concert concluded with “Balbyrauyn”, a celebrated kui by the great Kazakh composer and dombyra master Kurmangazy.

The festival became a remarkable cultural event, highlighting the harmony between national cultures and once again demonstrating that art is a universal language capable of bringing people together.
