On June 5, the stage of the Akmola Regional Philharmonic named after Ükili Ybyrai hosted the solo concert “My Kobyz That Reached the Heart” by Saida Rashit, concertmaster of the K. Kumisbekov Kazakh Folk Instruments Orchestra.
During the evening, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra and concertmaster Olga Gergel, Saida Rashit masterfully performed masterpieces by Kazakhstani and international composers, revealing the unique artistic and expressive qualities of the kobyz. The ancient sound of this traditional instrument, carrying centuries of history, conveyed the profound essence of Kazakh culture while presenting outstanding works of both Kazakh and world classical music from a fresh perspective. The concert, built around the warm and soulful voice of the kobyz, offered the audience a deeply moving and inspiring musical experience.
Special guests of the program included Sadzhana Murzaliyeva from Astana, recipient of the State Youth Award “Daryn,” as well as laureates of international competitions Ulmeken Shodyrova from Aktau and Saule Zinet from Aktobe. Philharmonic artists Serikbolsyn Bekmoldin and Madiar Abay also took part in the concert, presenting memorable musical performances.
The evening was further enriched by the graceful performances of the internationally acclaimed Gakku Dance Ensemble and its soloist Dinara Nurgozhina, whose elegant choreography added a special charm and visual beauty to the program.
The concert became a true celebration of musical artistry, highlighting the richness of the kobyz tradition and the enduring connection between national heritage and contemporary concert performance.
