In the Akmola Regional Philharmonic named after Ukili Ybyray on May 12 a symphonic fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf" by S. Prokofiev took place. The chief conductor of the symphony orchestra is Berik Sarybay, the stage director and narrator is Tatyana Kiryanova, the artists are the soloists of the Gakku dance ensemble (headed by Gulmira Ordabayeva).

This bright and spectacular performance for the youngest viewers was filled with emotional and musical content.

Peter and the Wolf is a symphonic fairy tale for children by Sergei Prokofiev, written in 1936. All over the world, adults and children know and love this symphonic tale. For the first time the fairy tale was performed in the same year in a concert of the Moscow Philharmonic.

In his autobiography, the author wrote: “Each character of the fairy tale had his own leitmotif entrusted to the same instrument: the oboe represents the duck, the bassoon represents the grandfather, the flute represents the bird.

Before the beginning of the performance, the instruments were shown to the children and the themes played on them: during the performance, the children heard the themes many times and learned to recognize the timbre of the instruments - this is the pedagogical meaning of the tale. It was not the fairy tale itself that was important to me, but the fact that the children listened to music, for which the fairy tale was only a pretext.

"Live" performance of the symphony orchestra, to the voice of the narrator, the image of characters through plasticity and facial expressions, as well as with elements of ballet - this is a new original reading of the good old fairy tale.

Entertaining games and interactive with the public were included in the theatrical action. The performance contributed to the development of culture, the upbringing of the moral values ​​of the little viewer - the performance touched upon such topics as friendship and love for music. During the fairy tale, children together with their parents learned to recognize the timbre of the bassoon, flute, oboe, and the symphony orchestra clearly demonstrates the capabilities of each musical instrument.
